School visits

I am available for a limited number of school visits each year.

I can give a PowerPoint presentation, talk about my new publication, its historical setting and my other writing, and offer practical advice for young writers. My aim is to make this experience as informative, colourful and entertaining as possible.

If you’d like to apply for a visit to your school contact Rosemary Tisdall at:  http://www.rosemarytisdall.com

If you are a student please talk to one of your teachers, or your school librarian and ask them to visit this page.

Preparation for Catherine’s visit

Age Range

Cath’s presentations and workshops are mostly aimed at younger teenagers, from 13 to 15 years old, although they can be modified slightly to suit a younger or older audience.

Cath would prefer not to talk to a mixed audience of younger and older students, as it is difficult to pitch the talk at two different levels simultaneously.

Suggested Programme – Morning

A morning visit to your school should consist of two one hour sessions: either two presentations (to different groups) or a presentation followed by a workshop.

 9:30am – 10:30am Presentation

 11:00am – 12:00noon Presentation or Workshop

Suggested Programme – Afternoon

An afternoon visit to your school should consist of one or two one hour sessions: a presentation,

followed (optionally) by a shortened workshop for keen writers.

 1:00pm Presentation

 2:00pm Workshop (Short)

 2:45pm Finish

Notes:

 All students will find the presentation entertaining and interesting.

 The maximum benefit for keen student writers comes from attending a presentation and a

workshop.

Please make it clear what programme you want at least one week prior to Catherine’s visit
